Please let me know if I'm being too bleak, but I hate this weird "let's do normal things even though nothing in the world is normal right now" thing. I know people want a break but seeing millionaire celebs find relief by performing doesn't hit for me. And then throwing fucking Louis on it the whole thing is beyond.
I feel the same about drive in concerts too. Just seem like people are so desperate to get back to some semblance of normalcy even though that just isn’t possible.
talib's entire brand the past month has been "argue myself into getting de-platformed everywhere." shame.
Projecting Innocence: Years after promised reforms, Alamo Drafthouse Theaters still breed harassment. KC is no exception. Holy shit does Alamo Drafthouse suck.
Awful. I loved the concept of their theaters and was bummed when the one closest to me closed but that organization is deeply poisoned.
Wow. Always got the feeling he was an asshole, but I definitely did not expect to hear about any of this
It was a guy basically outing his friends experience with Drake Bell. I'm guessing they didn't like that he did that. Basically said he was a raging asshole to the point where she feared for her life
Also in the same breath was pushing "innocent until proven guilty" despite the fact that he literally knows someone personally who was abused by Bell.
Ohh that's what he was saying? I saw it but couldn't make sense of it. Just seemed so hypocritical. Because it is.
Twitter sucks. People are mad again about that infamous Dan Harmon sketch, but shouldn't they be more upset by the way he actually treats his employees? Or the fact that Justin Roiland is an actual creep? People care about the wrong things and it's so frustrating
Dan Harmon apparently acted in a sketch where he simulated sex with a baby doll, putting /r/rickandmorty in a bit of a pickle. Because of that one episode. : SubredditDrama I don't watch Rick and Morty, so idk if I'm missing context. The sketch is dumb and sucks, but who cares. Being actually abusive seems so much worse than...whatever this is
Sounds a lot like when the alt-right was trying to go after James Gunn for bad shock humor from years prior.
Is Harmon still abusive at work? I know he had been, and Megan Ganz talked with him about it on an episode of his podcast (as much as I liked Community and Rick & Morty I never delved into Harmon's other stuff, I don't know much about him)
Harmon is one of the few powerful men in entertainment who has actually owned up to his past harmful behavior. Doesn't excuse how he treated people earlier in his career but he does appear to have changed.
she goes on to say he's known in the industry for being an asshole to everyone he works with, which, take it as you will, may not exactly be abuse, but I trust Vera, and there are so many red flags here/examples of problematic behavior and past abuse that it all rubs me the wrong
Isn't Harmon basically retired now? I thought he stepped back from just about everything he was involved with and is just a producer now.
He's still running the writer's room at Rick & Morty. He's retired in the sense that he now has R&M to ensure his wealth for the rest of his life and doesn't have to take on other projects anymore
I know Justin was a union busting scab but that's all I've heard of him being shitty 'Rick and Morty' Co-Creator Justin Roiland: "Fuck The Union"
