I've been feeling shitty lately and this doesn't help, especially at this crucial time where she could use her platform so differently and positively if she had an ounce of humanity. I wish I didn't allow her diatribe to get to me this much, as her incoherent arguments are all very common from transphobes, but... I can't look away either. Perhaps the fact that she isn't a nobody plays a part too. I wasn't expecting her to now dismiss victims of sexual abuse as well and conflate that issue with trans acceptance... even after being familiar with the harmful "gender critical" sphere, I'm astounded to see such an extreme take shared by someone on her level of success.

I’m so sorry that this has hit you both so hard. She’s done so much damage and only continues to be proud of her hatred and make it worse intentionally. The only aspect of such a horrifying story that gives me any kind of hope is that the backlash has been so swift and clear this time. I doubt she’ll ever go away willingly, but maybe she can be completely drowned out by accepting voices.

 

Most places are using 100.4 degrees as the threshold. If you are walking around with 101 degree temperature you must be feeling very ill. Walking around like that even in regular times would be incredibly irresponsible.

 

Are places regularly checking people for symptoms before they enter? I’ve seen plenty enforcement of store capacity or mask requirements but was not aware of this.

 

Temperature-checking camera sales are exploding these last 3-6 months.

 

If these temperature guns have existed for a while, why have they been putting them inside of us for so long? That is bothersome.

 

I got temperature checked today when I got my haircut. Took less than 5 seconds, completely harmless. Getting a haircut with a mask on is something else though..

 

I’m happy for this, and not just bc I’m selfishly interested in BMW. She deserves healing and I’m glad after so long she’s getting it
