The more important question is whether he has shown actual growth on the issue since then. Like, a significant part of “accountability” is that people *can* change and become better. Which although Wahlberg obviously isn’t committing hate crimes anymore, I don’t know enough about how much he has ever tried to own up to his past and make amends generally. I don’t think he’s ever tried to excuse those past actions, but that’s still a bare minimum

 

If someone owns up to their behavior and works at being a better person, isn’t that the whole point of accountability? Like he can’t take that shit back and he’s worked towards making amends to those he hurt, I don’t see why it’s worth dragging that out and holding it against him. It doesn’t excuse him but if he did the work to be better but still gets dragged, then what’s the point of this? Is he just forever damned then?

I searched for a an apology but all I could find was the victim saying he wasn't mad anymore and him apologizing for saying if he was on the 9/11 plane he would have beat the shit out of the terorrists and saved everyone
