Sorry for putting you on the spot, but would you mind expanding on this a little bit? I don’t know anything about him really but I’ve been seeing some of his stuff shared on Instagram in the last couple days and he seems like a pretty decent person. Are there some known skeletons in his closet I should be aware of?
history of racism Michael Rapaport Is the Worst Kind of White Man he also made a Twitter account pretending to be his son which was weird but not really in that realm but related to him being a reply guy on Twitter https://pagesix.com/2017/01/26/acto...son-for-defending-him-on-twitter-from-school/
Honestly he’s acted completely different than I’d expect regarding all this. However, I’ve grown up in the Boston’s sports scene and he’s always just showing up. He’s always been one of those loudmouth, always trying to start fights with everyone on social media and radio spots, macho-masculine middle aged white dude guys. He always just shows up trying to stir controversy which is lame as fuck. Here’s some examples: https://www.yahoo.com/lifestyle/father-apos-atypical-apos-michael-220810933.html Michael Rapaport's Sexist Tweet About Ariana Grande Is Getting Backlash https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.ya...-brendon-urie-coming-pansexual-162915739.html https://www.google.com/amp/s/denverbitch.wordpress.com/2017/12/12/michael-rapaport-is-trash/amp/
@Donnie Ruth @iCarly Rae Jepsen oh shit, yeah even just a cursory glance at some of these headlines and I can see where y’all are coming from. Will definitely read further — appreciate you both for the links, thank you!!
Russillo knows his stuff sports-wise, but I always have this feeling he'd be a pain to work with, takes himself way too seriously. Apparently his recent pod with Simmons was a car crash.
Could this thread also be a place where we share stuff about people in the entertainment industry doing good? Maybe I’m just in a particularly downtrodden mood right now, but even when I’m not this thread is always just such a downer
I guess my only question would be if doing that in the same thread helps or hurts the thread's purpose? Could see a case for either argument, tbh. I agree that it's a downer, which is one of a few reasons why I always unfollow after posting, just popping in here & there to see if I'm missing anything important. But, is that just the nature of a thread on accountability (except for those rare times when a truly positive result comes out of a situation)? Does it just have to be a thread for keeping up w/ egregious injustices & stupidity by public figures that we engage at our own discernment, & would positive stories dilute that? Or, alternatively, would those positive stories fit the spirit of the thread by giving us people to wanna support more, in addition to those we wanna support less? And, would it create an atmosphere where people like being in the thread more, making it more about generally changing culture for the better & less about being mad online? Remember struggling a bit a while ago similarly about the "representation in media" thread, which just doesn't get much activity anymore.
Honestly tho, that should probably be its own thread unless its actors taking accountability for their actions, I guess.
I for one am shocked to find a relative of Peyton and Eli Manning made a statement like that. edit: I heard this when OITNB started and just found out it is not true. Whoops.
