I feel like stan culture, outside of the slang I mostly use lightheartedly, has rotten the brain of too many people. Not every celebrity is worthy of praise. Not every tabloid moment or takedown of the past is "iconic".

So apparently Scott Disick and Sofia Richie (Nicole Richie’s sister/Lionel’s daughter) are dating and have been for at least two years. He’s in his mid 30s and she’s 21. I remember a while ago seeing stories and photos of Scott hanging out with literal teenagers (Madison Beer, Youtuber Suede Brooks, etc.) Does anyone find it creepy that he is seemingly into hanging out with and dating people way younger than him/minors? It reminds me of the whole Drake texting underage girls thing that’s been going on.
Was he with actual minors or just young women? Drake, if I remember correctly, was getting close with underage girls and then dating them once they turned 18. Like a kind of grooming basically. I’m not about to defend the sanctity of Scott Disick but if he is just getting with women who are 18-21 then imo Drake’s shit is markedly worse lol
I think Scott hanging out with teenagers or barely legal adults is just...weird when he's in his mid 30's. What reason does he have to be hanging out with them aside from something creepy?
I dont think he was defending it, but noting the vast difference between just creepily being with girls who are 10+ years younger than him and actually being with a minor.
Is he hanging out with adults or minors? You say “teenagers” but that could technically mean 18-19. You can think him hanging out with 18-19yr olds is creepy all you want or whatever but I’m just saying that I think that is quite different from him hanging out with actual minors lol
Both. He was hanging out with 18-19 year olds and literal teens (Suede Brooks was 16 when they were hanging out). I just find it super gross, why isn't he hanging out/dating people closer to his age? Nothing wrong with dating people younger than you...I just find it odd in this instance because he associates himself a lot with younger girls.
imo established norms matter a lot. Young adult women dating older men is absurdly common with celebrities. Like I can imagine that that’s something that Disick and many other people like him would barely bat an eye at. Hanging out with and obviously especially dating a 16yo seems way worse to me, bc I have to assume even Disick would be aware that there is a clear line that we as a society have generally decided on, and that he is crossing it lol. At the same time, I think that clear line also means that he doesn’t need to be and arguably shouldn’t have to be at all shady when he doesn’t cross it. As in, if he’s romantically interested in another adult, even if they’re notably younger than him, then there’s no need for any of the Drake-like grooming and playing coy about his relationship with them that, in my opinion, makes those kinds of relationships much worse
