Yeah idk how anyone can say that when literally ALL I’ve seen are people tripping over themselves to ~shame us all for doing this to poor Johnny~ and that amber is a big dumb *insert your choice of gendered slur here*

 

Like literally I just scrolled across this and this is just a smalllll sampling of what I’ve seen on social media. Often from people who otherwise consider themselves progressive or woke or feminist in some way.

 

Stan culture is a helluva drug. People really want Johnny Depp to be in more movies that badly. So gross.

 

I mean, the Pirates movies weren't that good and people want more of them?

 

The first one was good back in the day. Second two are mediocre-at-best. Never saw the fourth. Watched the fifth on Netflix once and it was one of the worst movies I've ever seen.

Johnny Depp made hundreds of millions of dollars playing a drunk pirate and then spent it all on wine lol

 

I appreciate how influential his collabs with Tim Burton were in developing my tastes as a teenager, but I don't think I'm ready to like Johnny Depp again. As I think someone else in here has said, this is the sort of messy relationship where both people seem to be at fault to some extent.

 

How anyone could see the things they said to each other as an exoneration of Depp is wildly and willfully misguided

Don’t be such a dunce dude. I provided two specific examples of the larger consensus one of which being people from this actual site. I’m not arguing further with you but just ask yourself why exactly “we don’t need to be reminded that the abuse was mutual” is a hill you really wanna fuckin die on

 

Idk the person who said it, idk their username but overall not the point. I’m not trying to use this thread as accountability for forum members lol altho can you imagine if we actually had that thread

This may come as a shock to some of you but there are probably dozens of people who read this thread and disagree with ALL of it lol
Which was also part of my point. Like ~10 people post in this thread regularly lol, there’s clearly a lot more people reading it than posting in it. So to act like we can assume the readers’ thoughts based on the small percentage of posters’ posts....is silly.
