Then why even respond to my post as if I was comparing the two, let alone trying to make the latter seem worse somehow?
I didn't quote you. It was a general response to a couple of posts that I interpreted as being more concerned with than interviewer than with what Gilliam said.
Not more concerned, also concerned. Asking that specific question at all, but especially without any pushback or challenging of the answer, is a bad look.
I hate when they do this and it's some no name person who was in the movie for 5 seconds, because I was like Emily VanCamp did what
I saw this and my first thought was “what is it one of the girls from the double date at the beginning of the first one?” Didn’t expect it to be somehow less consequential than that.
Few things are as unattractive in the abstract as a YouTube video like this that's the length of a feature film, lol. But, this is a really good video.
JFC that Kam Collins joke was in bad taste but the VITRIOL being spit at him on Twitter is just astounding.
Well give us like 2 hours lol But yeah I’m less than halfway through. I like it a lot so far but obv there’s a lot left there’s room for it to make a wrong turn lol
Natalie Wynn, a.k.a. Contrapoints, is an awesome leftist trans YouTuber who was "canceled" for having Buck Angel read a small John Waters quote in one of her video essays. She doesn't get into her own experiences right away, but basically, she took that & turned into into a way to discuss some differences between "cancel culture" & good faith criticism. I'm a big fan of that topic not being ignored & monopolized by rightwing reactionaries, & also a big fan of her, so yeah. If you're not opposed to YouTube video essays as a medium, are interested in wrestling w/ how we handle accountability in good faith (especially online), & have time to watch it in installments, it's certainly worth a watch.
While yes she gets into her personal experiences after like 30 min I would argue that the first 30 min are super important as a separate piece as just like an explanation for how these things evolve because I think she did a really good job of explaining it and giving me perspective on things I’ve thought a lot about
Here's a New Yorker piece on Pinegrove's comeback through the lens of the sexual coersion accusation against Hall.
Interesting read, and I’m very glad they aren’t letting people forget. I loved Pinegrove, but after the allegations I stopped listening immediately. It seems strange people have moved on, and are fine listening again. Like the article says there are so many great artists without accused abusers. Same reason I don’t listen to TOOL anymore. There are other great metal bands that don’t have a rapist in them.
