I found this shirt I bought from Hot Topic circa 2005? At the time I did not love the shirt but I bought it because it was my favorite album but the layout has since grown on me.

 

Really enjoyed this podcast - thanks for bringing it to my attention.

Phantoms Twenty is beautiful

 

was kind of ready to poo-poo it... but kind of enjoying it a lot on first listen. but i havent gotten to the Matty Mullins song yet.

EDIT - a little further along. I dont love the Stephen Christian version. not because of his voice, the song just feels kind of rushed and chaotic.

Breathless with Charlotte Sands sounds really good.

I dont mind Matty's version of Permanent at all. he sounds pretty solid TBH. Vocals sound relatively natural
Gloria/Us is incredible. Acceptance should definitely do more duets with female vocals.

 

Im still not jazzed Alex gaskarth is on this but im enjoying everything but that.

 

The Maine’s feature on this is incredible, easily my favorite track

 

The Stephen Christian feature was a bit of a jump scare at first. Why did he come in like that lol

 

Some of the added instrumentation on this is absurdly gorgeous

 

whats the deal with him? I dont really listen to ATL, but I thought this version was pretty good.

i am on the record as never wanting artists to re-record their old work - i would rather have new music from active artists. but if you are gonna do it, this is about as good as i could hope for. i am an absolute sucker for duets, so these all really work for me. the production, added instrumentation, and jason's new vocal flourishes sound awesome.

 

There were allegations but they cleared their name. No one is even trying to cancel them anymore outside a handful of people on this site.

 

Of the re-recorded scene records, this is the best one by a healthy margin.

 

TAITA gets a shocking amount of plays from me still.

 

Aaron Sprinkle really is just awesome though, and these songs are so so so good.

 

I’m not here to cancel artists, but the allegations have been around for years and there’s a very vocal amount of folks outside of this site who’d say differently.

 

Sounds like there might be a violin feature by Sean from Yellowcard on that song also. I got major Always Summer vibes from the solo and outro.

 

Sean did the string arrangements for the whole album.

 

They absolutely crushed this whole album. Really happy with it.

 

So spoiled having Acceptance and Cartel release on the same day. This sounds so good.

 

Having reached track 5, Difference feat. Alex Gaskarth, I do wonder if I'll often choose this version over the original. I didn't listen to the album for a long long time so it's still fresh enough for me.

Jason is a notably superior singer to all the guests so far, except Teddy who can hold his own, so from that perspective everything is a little weaker. It does sound really good though and I'm still happy to see this released and getting a boost.

 

I am ashamed to say I’ve never heard the original. Do I jump in with this new version or start with the original?

 

Very cool that Cass Pope is on both.
