Yes, a lot of modern live vocals are usually heavily processed, including autotune. (And better for it, in a lot of cases haha)

Yeah, this version is awesome.

I hope Teddy promotes this and they can get it some radio play. Would be cool to see this amazing song finally get its flowers 20 years later.

not gonna lie, I dont really know who Teddy Swims is, but he sounds really good on this and his voice blends well with Jason over the last minute

 

I think Jason’s voice sounds too compressed or something here

with how much reverb/echo they put on Jason's voice on Wild, Free, its interesting how little there is at the beginning of this song.

55: What Really Happened with Acceptance’s Phantoms? w/ Jason Vena

Caught up with Jason Vena's interview on CD Burners back in May. I remember the album and EP quite well but by 2005 I was drifting away from the scene for a decade or so and so never got much into the full story about the commercial failure of the album.

This interview was really a great listen and has me believing that this might be the most significant/sad "hit that got away" from the golden era based on the 9 month leak/ pulling of physical copies issues. Talk about bad luck.

Wishing them every success with this release and a Teddy Swims guest is an insane result. Guy has been in the top 10 singles for nearly 2 years straight.

 

It's rare that I enjoy re-recorded versions of my favorite songs at all, but this gave me chills. So good.

 

270k streams on Spotify for So Contagious in 3 days. That's seems good given some of the original tracks, the lesser loved ones, are 1/1.5m.

 

Yup. Especially for a song that is 20/21 years old.
