i was revisiting wild free and this song hit me differently, it's a sad song, and it made me sad, but it's also really good, love acceptance and love that it made me think of someone i love!
Lovely song and appreciate your thoughts. I was thinking yesterday I really should listen to Acceptance as they’re a band I should like but I’ve never spent any time with. I’m guessing this is more of a slower song for them?
yeah it’s a slower one. Most of their sound is upbeat and energetic , smooth vocals all around! Start with their debut; phantoms and go from there. They only have three albums so there isn’t a lot to go through. I hope you like what you hear and I think you’ll probably find some songs on all of them that you’ll enjoy!
nothing concrete, just anecdotal. Instagram posts over the past couple years where they tease recording and such. There was a zoom interview a couple years back where they said they were working on stuff….then a couple days ago the bassist posted a picture on his instagram story of a piece of recording equipment with a caption that said something to the effect of “I love my part time job”. that and I’m willing it into existence
Christian posted an Instagram story tonight that looks like a promo photo of the whole band. And then a photo of him and Kaylan in a bar having a beer. Now I’m starving for new Acceptance.
Insane record. To say “Front to back, no skips” doesn’t even to this album justice. The ultimate “should have been the biggest band in the world” album
They announced a Phantoms 20th Anniversary show in Seattle in August. But the poster says “20th anniversary tour” so assuming a tour is in the works. Also, at the bottom of the tour announcement, there is an Equal Vision records logo…. Which makes me very optimistic they’re putting out a new album on Equal Vision in the not so distant future….
Stoked for everyone that can make it out. I saw their mini-run 10 years back and they played phantoms in full back then, and it was really special. Hopefully they’ll throw a new song into the setlist
