Fire and Rain may be my new favorite Acceptance song.

 

Yeah it's so layered, but not stuffed, if that makes any sense

 

Absolutely, there's lots of room for the songs to breathe.

 

I love all the new bells and whistles, but I hope the HQ will bring his voice higher in the mix on some tracks.

 

Desperate and Take You Away would have been fine tossed on here.

 

Not big on Goodbye. Sounds like a B-side from older Acceptance

 

Oh man, desperate, totally forgot about that song.

 

I HATED the remixed Desperate they did, but now I love it.

 

It's rainy as hell out here, this is a great rain-record so far

That was/still is my main issue with Vital, great record but it sounds so stuffed at times

 

See, I don't feel that way about Vital (I love Vital) but I'm feeling it a bit here. Second listen on its way.

 

Yep, totally agree with that, it's always felt a bit claustrophobic to be in its production.

 

'When i was cursed' is the only song i'm not sold on yet

 

it's been a while since I've heard a really good album of this style. I'm digging it

 

Don't get me wrong, it's a great record, but it doesn't breathe IMO

 

This makes me think that if I'd heard Phantoms when it was first released I probably would've gotten really into it, but I heard it eight years or so later and it just sounded dated, whereas this record feels totally fresh. Not to keep harping on Phantoms, I'm just really surprised how much more I like this new one.

 

I like the title track - but I just want to hear the second part of the chorus a tiny bit betteeerrrrr

 

Haunted has a nice build.

 

I adore that song - one of my favorite Acceptance songs.

 

I get what you're saying. It's like the first Independence Day movie, back when it came out i thought it was like the best thing ever. Recently watched it again and i still liked it, but man it looked/sounded so dated.

 

"When I Was Cursed" might be my favorite so far

 

That's like the Star Wars prequels for me... when I was 10 I legit thought they were good hahaha.

 

Closer is growing on me. Huge Phil Collins feels on this one too.

Also, Phantoms has and never will sound or feel dated to me.
