Michael, what does a bean mean??!

 

My friend always has dozens if not hundreds of tabs open. I'm like the opposite, I don't like having too many tabs open at once, too much to keep track of

 

Every few months I hit the tab limit on iPhone safari, which is 500. Then I go back and close out of 470 of them leaving the pages I keep leaving open thinking I’ll read them one day.

 

I have 58 tabs open on my phone right now and I swear I’ll read em all soon!

(it’s easy to have no tabs left open at the end of the day if you have no ambition and accept your lot as a boring dullard. we all spend 90% of our waking hours on 3-4 sites anyway. it’s less like beavers and more like how sea turtles go back to where they were born to lay eggs: I’m gonna just look at the same shit I always do so why fight nature? this post got fucken WEIRD)

The introduction of safari tab groups has blown my tab count wide open

 

Pocket has gone downhill a little bit, but it's still a pretty great tool to only have 30-50 tabs open instead of 300-500

what has changed with pocket? I still save to it regularly but don’t actually revisit the app often. When I do though it seems largely the same. I appreciate still having at least one functional app that isn’t constantly hounding me for money to access baseline features.

 

I've had a bunch of general performance issues with it not keeping the correct spot in an article (or which article I'm reading at all) when I'm switching between apps, some font strangeness, and things like charts generally don't load at all in reader view anymore. It still keeps the list perfectly fine, and the reading experience is alright when I can sit and just read an article from start to finish, but it's a much worse experience when I'm jumping around things on my phone. One of the more recent updates also kind of eliminated the "recommended" section (which I mostly used to send articles into the void; I can still find that section, but only on a computer). It's still an essential app for me, which makes the decreased overall quality more of a bummer.
