Top Charts like that got so bad because of the corporate take over of radio, they were all pushing the same songs constantly and left little room for smaller artists with great songs to break through. I think this happened late 90's, read an article about it but totally lost now. Weird how bleak it looks looking back, there was a ton of great music then too.
