To go along with my interview restoration project, and Drew and Craig’s review project, there are a handful of classic AbsolutePunk reviews that I also think should be saved for posterity as well. Here’s the first batch added back into our database:

I’ll update this post as I revive various other artifacts.

You know what feature from AP needs to come back? The ability to follow or subscribe to your favorite bands and customize your news feed. That was by far the best part of AP.

I remember Absolute posting about 3 songs on PureVolume from Mmhmm. The rest is history. That became one of my favorite albums, and Matt Thiessen instantly became one of my favorite song writers (the older stuff didn't do much for me).

I also remember getting Futures for Christmas in 2004 (mainly because it was so hyped on AP and it didn't disappoint). I put it on my Xbox right away, and it became my soundtrack to Tony Hawk's Underground 2. Good times.

That Define review is a great read. i believe there’s a spelling error. I believe it “Dutkiewicz” but I could be wrong...

nice to see this happening. maybe the wiki links can somehow be fixed? it's a little sad when you come across pretty much any album from the ~scene~ and the AP.net review score is there on the side but you can't read it

  6. My Dinosaur Life is definitely my favorite Motion City Soundtrack album. Glad to see these reviews and think about some albums I haven't listened to in a while.

Can you post the From Under The Cork Tree review where the staff was super butthurt about it for some reason? Ditto for the TBS Where You Want To Be review and the Simple Plan self-titled review (I seem to remember the author referring to their lyric writing as "caveman"-like in that last one). That'd be a great walk down memory lane.
