Really like this show a lot, but i gotta get pedantic as a labor organizer and say I get what they were going for with the “educators going the extra mile” thing, but bro that’s still being a scab lol you’re diminishing the impact of the strike. Would’ve been cooler if the episode was about the Teachers Union showing solidarity, or teaching the kids about working class issues, etc.

last nights episode was fantastic.

 

The scene with the truffles and Ava and Melissa was so good.

 

I feel like they’re going somewhere with Jacob’s character right now. The previous episode with RJ left Jacob on a somber note like “I’m going to figure this out.” Then this episode he did, but at the end he still wound up at a dark conclusion of “I’ll never be able to help everybody” and it wasn’t the face of a well man. I kind of thought with RJ at first that maybe they were going to tell a story about what it’s like to have a student suffering from depression, but now I’m feeling like it’s Jacob I’m meant to be concerned about. Curious to see if this does lead somewhere.

 

Nice Stephen Ellis cameo as the server who startles Greggory at the golf club. I remember him as Carl on you’re the worst
