    i have a problem where i can't be objective about abba because i love them so goddamn much, so, with that in mind, i kind of adore this record, even the very gelatinous ballads

    It’s objectively a good thing to enjoy art so much that you can’t be clinical about it. Otherwise why love music at all

    My fiancee suggested we watch Mama Mia a few weeks ago because I had never seen it. Well, I have been OBSESSED with ABBA since and picked up Gold on vinyl.

    This is a downright pop masterpiece. They do the chorus FOUR different ways: acapella, with the staccato synth line, with the full band, then synth and vocals only.
