DJ and A24 reteaming again but I can't remember the last time he had a supporting role in a movie.. cameos doesn't count but an actual supporting role!
Damn, I'm so tempted to drop the $9.99 extra to get that hat. It makes it a $40 hat which while expensive, I've definitely paid at concerts before...
That's very nice of you / thank you, but the membership actually looks worth it. I have the AMC stubs pass (or whatever it's called) but for example, Friendship didn't hit my AMC (and I really only go to one that's a 5 minute walk) so I paid $16 to see it elsewhere. It seems hit or miss for the budget / type of movie, on what makes it to AMC, but there are 2 arts theaters that get most of their movies, so the free opening weekend ticket sounds like a pretty good deal based on what's coming out.
i wish i lived near an eligible theater for the free tickets (usually redeemable at AMC, Regal, and Alamo Drafthouse). i used one for MaXXXine last year at an AMC 45 minutes away, and i gave my Friendship ticket to my sister (who's a big Tim Robinson fan) since she lives near an AMC and an Alamo Drafthouse. it really is a good deal for that, but you also get other perks like a store discount, a $5 credit/month to use on their store or app (bankable to $25), a free birthday gift (got The Green Knight in 4K last year), an occasional zine, etc. edit: Marcus Theaters is no longer participating in the free ticket program
Friendship Blu-ray up for preorder now (doesn't look like they'll be doing a physical 4K UHD). shipping in August. Friendship Blu-ray
Finally using my AAA24 membership free ticket to see Materialists this Friday after work. I'm so excited!
The Whale has to be one of the worst films the studio has released, right? I know they've released some stinkers, particularly some schlocky horror misfires. But in terms of films that are meant to be taken seriously, it's hard for me to think on one much worse
I thought the performances in The Whale were incredible and I was legit happy when Brendan Frasier won the oscar.. like a true comeback story for him but i agree a24 have had misses but I hope this one won't be a miss plus seeing Dwayne in a darker role like this under Aronofsky's direction is exciting
Officially confirmed!! Really excited about this era of The Rock's acting career, Safdie, Scorsese and now Darren Aronofsky!!
