Anxiety and depression are closely linked for me. I'll get to feeling shitty because of whatever one thing I can't stop worrying about at the time

 

Having anxiety and bipolar is hard especially when it comes to treating it. I don't want to be a zombie so I just deal with the anxiety part and take meds for the bipolar part. I'd much rather be stressed to the max than manic or suicidal. Know what I mean? Try to make the best of it. All you can do I suppose.

Nice! If you like the general vibe of that one you'll prolly like Money Tree too.

 

Can't wait! Will get to it soon. I realize this makes me sound like a dick but I promise it's just that 1. I'm hard to impress and 2. I'm picky as hell and not that big into the general style of music, but "Ships" and "Waves" just weren't for me so I was hesitant to listen. Very happy I decided to listen as there have been some great surprises on it and songs I'll definitely find myself listening to a lot.

 

Haha, nah man that's fine. People like what they like. I'd like to think there's a broad range of stuff on the album. It was kinda hard to pick singles because of that.

 

There definitely is, I'm into it. I like albums with lots of tones, and also it sounds like your live shows would be fun as hell.

my man jacobs vocal performance is what makes ships sing for me. then that little "wanna float on" part

I appreciate that a lot man! Here's like, the second or third time we ever played Ghost on acoustic. Tempo is too slow, but you get the idea

I also appreciate the kind words about my vocals. I've had no training whatsoever and it took me forever before i even sang in front of people. Singng was something i always did alone. Oddly enough i really liked/listened to a lot of R&B when i was younger.

 

I'm so happy someone mentioned Solstice, haha. That song gets no love, but i really like it.

 

I just started but I have to ask WHAT KIND OF FUCKIN VENUES DO YOU PLAY AT WHERE YOU GET BACKING LIGHTS ON A WALL LIKE THAT hahaha

 

I am so in love with this game. I just got to the forest kingdom

 

Also a couple random facts about the album:

The drummer had never heard the songs before, so my brother and i had to basically direct him while he was blind, haha. He played along to an acoustic scratch track and had no idea how the final versions would be. We spent about 4 hours per song for drums.

Also, for some reason the pitch correcting software almost always thought i was singing an octave lower than i actually was. Our producer said that's only happened like, one other time, but for me it would happen like 10 times per song.

 

I'm so excited for you, definitely tell me when you get to "the moment"

 

Hahaha, i don't know why they had that . It's not a tiny venue or anything. We played with Senses Fail there and i've seen like, We the Kings, Bayside, Mayday, Go Radio, and New Found Glory there before.

PS, the venue closed like a month ago

 

I've played with Suicide Silence and Vic Mensa before (different musical moments obviously) and didn't get shit like that
