It's weird after going to more concerts than I usually do last year to have so many gaps this year

I've just got Music Midtown in September. But Bruno and Mumford will be fantastic so I'm stoked. Really wish I could see Thrice on this tour.

I'm waiting to see if my stepdad is going to see Dream Theater with me

If not I'm really considering doing the $150 seat since this was like one of the first bands I loved

It's always so hard to recommend them to others. They do bore a lot of people. But if you want more on the progressive side, start with Images & Words. If you want something heavier, go with Train of Thought. My favorite is Scenes from a Memory, but it's a full blown concept album so it's a little tough to start out with.

Mulaney was fantastic, as one would expect. The highlights:

    - He did the usual "what do you do for a living?" crowd work with a guy in the front, and the guy made cremation urns with his husband. You could see his face light up as ue realized the gold mine he stumbled into.
    - He was doing a bit about donating to charity and some guy just yells "Ice T!!!". John stops mid bit and goes "You mean the joke I did seven years ago? You mean the joke everyone in the room already knows the punch line too? No thanks, but thank you for interrupting me". One minute later the same guy yells "SCRATCHY LOTTERIES" and John clearly gets a little more annoyed and replies "wait a minute, that's the same fucking joke" and gave the dude a roasting we could all be proud of. The guy did shut up after that.

Opener was Max Silvestri, and he completely killed it.
