I saw Underoath on their reunion tour last year and it was a nostalgia trip. Caspian was really dope too.

 

I was lucky enough to see them twice. Once at Bled Fest where they played CNS and HOHW material, and then the Underoath tour where they did SILYAYD material.

 

What is the pitch for As Cities Burn. What makes them good

I never liked ACB, but 2017 me might.

great response hahahaha. And I totally agree part of social media is that you get to choose who you interact with as opposed to real life.

 

If you like Underoath, you'll like SILYAYD. If you like TDAG, you'll like CNS and HOHW.

 

I tried getting into them waay long ago and haven't really thought about them until I saw them being brought up in here. I'll prolly check 'em out soon.

 

I like Underoath but when I checked them out before the farewell tour they seemed pretty generic

 

Idk they're one of the most unique metalcore bands of that era to me and a lot of other people. And then CNS/HOHW went in a totally different direction that worked.

Very few bands like them imho

 

Underoath and ACB both rule

 

Chase, they only played stuff from their first album on that tour. Give Come Now Sleep a try, sounds like a different band

 

Oh yeah, I may have heard that beforehand and only listened to that album

Son I Loved You At Your Darkest was one of the best releases from the scene in that era. Its probably still pretty good to most that would hear it first time today. They had a lot of creative ideas from the beginning. Namely the guitars were steeped in blues and the atmospherics from post rock. And they were using telecasters and tweed amps. They had a very different timbre than the rest of the scene. They were about as good a band from the scene you could find even from the beginning. They were influential. A lot of aspects of that first release's sound became the idea of Oh Sleepers sound generified years later down the pipe. Then albums 2 and 3 were curveballs and also very good. Theyre a wayyy better band than Underoath.
