Community seasons 2-3 raised the mark so high for tv, that it couldn't even surpass that mark themselves.

Always thought community deserved more love. First 3 seasons were definitely gold

Haven't watched Rick and Morty for that reason, and I'm okay with it

I don't find the show particularly funny, but I can see why some people like it... however, I have to say, I just can't think of a way it raised any bar.

Rick & Morty and Community are both just as great as everyone says, but I agree that fanbases are awful. Considering Rick & Morty strictly a comedy is kind of a disservice, because it navigates some dark territory very well albeit largely through a comedic lens.

Community is a goddamn masterpiece outside of Season 4. That is really one of the only shows I can put on a random episode from due to a conversation bringing some ep to mind, and have everyone adore it despite not being familiar the characters and all the callbacks/weird pseudo-lore of it all.

Also Harmontown is something I held off on for far too long due to hearing negative things and now I look forward to it more than any other pod. Yesterday's episode put me in such a good mood.

So many high concept episodes that managed to make sense with the characters while developing them instead of being played strictly for laughs. The flashback episode of events that never actually took place, the Dungeons and Dragons episode, some of my favorite TV ever is in there.

The final three episodes of season four are still a masterpiece though so it's not like season four isn't worth your time

Colby I'm with you on the animated shows geared toward adults. I lack imagination, I guess.

Rick & Morty will never even approach the cultural impact of something like The Simpsons or South Park obviously but I expect it to be one of those shows that ends with 4 or 5 rock solid seasons

I've never watched Rick & Morty or The Simpsons (I know...), but the original run of Futurama (and to a lesser extent, Family Guy) is quality. Same with Bob's Burgers.

I didn't get very far into Archer, though.

Fantasy when depicted (whether written or visual) well, requires no imagination. It's a breakdown of craft, not genre. #twocents

If I could recommend one episode of Archer, it'd be S2E9 The Placebo Effect. One of the funniest cartoon comedy episodes I've ever seen.

Noted! I'm somewhere around the middle of season one, I think.
