my great grandmother died last night. she had to be one of the toughest humans that has ever lived. she outlived two husbands and all three of her kids. i always felt so awful for her so in a way im glad she's gone. she can finally be at peace. she went three weeks without any medicine or food because she couldn't swallow and they couldn't give her an IV. She passed peacefully and my uncle and one of her daughters friend was with her so she wasn't alone.

sorry for the long post about it. just reflecting.

thanks guys. im doing fine. maybe its fucked up but like i said in the other post im kind of happy for her that she's gone. i know she had to be miserable sitting in nursing home just looking at pictures of her kids that were all gone every day.

Sounds like she had a nice long life.

Like you, I lost my great grandmother a few years ago, just be grateful that we were able to know who is were. I know alot of people that weren't even able to meet theirs.

I'm kinda going through a similar situation with my wife's grandfather. He just turned 92 and his wife died suddenly in 2015. Since that time he isn't the same person, he didn't care at all anymore and his memory is completely shot big time. He says daily that he's ready to die and it's time. Really hard to see and hear alot of times.

and yeah, i know im fortunate i got to know both of my great grandmothers for most of my life. Even cooler than sophie got to meet both of her great-great grandmothers before they passed.

yeah fuck cat hunters.

hunting anything is bullshit anymore. i feel like 90% of hunters are either with guides or go into private, high fenced places where they wait by a feeder for whatever it is they are hunting to come out and eat so they can kill it.

 

I don't mind regular hunters who eat their kills, but these are just rich guys going out and killing exotic animals because they look cool, and ignoring the socioeconomic environment in those countries, it's just really unsettling

 

And I guess they pass themselves off as conservationists, which is ironic

 

yea that was more or less part of the point i was trying to make. Trophy hunting is messed up for various reasons. A lot of people eat what they kill, probably not the lions though. But most of these people arent "hunting". They are paying someone big money to take them straight to the animal they want to shoot. Doesn't matter if it's a deer or a leopard. It's all very silly to me.
