anyone have REALLY GOOD friends that are perhaps a distance away but are HORRIBLE texters/callers etc?
Like my best friend from Kindergarten is in ATL and I'm in NY but he is the WORST with messaging/texting and even on the phone it's dry... i dont wanna lost touch cus hes a LITERAL brother to me, like to the point i cry thinking of his mother passing (cus she was a Mom to me too) but i got no idea how to keep fluent contact with him. its so awkard trying to converse.

Thing is he wants to talk hes just not good at all at it and i'm trying but still all one word answers and makes me feel awkward.

so this is going to be a rant that amounts to nothing but my most dreaded day is on the way lol. my buddy mac just proposed to his girlfriend of 6 or so years. they're the ones i had that disastrous d&d session with a few weeks ago. now, they are PERFECT for each other. like, they radiate true love, and i'm thrilled for them. however, sarah(his fiancee) is the only tie left in my whole life to the people i hated in high school. they will compose her bridesmaids entirely, i'm sure of it, and i wouldn't be surprised if i get pinned as a groomsmen, which would def be an honor. not a guarantee cause a lot has changed since high school, but i'd say it's more likely than not.

here's where problems begin. i mentioned there being one super awkward convo thread that night at their place, and here it is. there was this girl, we'll call her sandy, that i was v good friends with in middle school and high school. it was more circumstantial than anything else, we lived in the same neighborhood, and i crushed on/dated one of her best friends.

in high school, she got real obnoxious. one night i hung out with her and two of my other buddies/acquaintances, and we went over to this kid's house that i knew well enough. they ditched me after five minutes, went in to the one other bedroom with paper thin walls, and took turns having sex with her for a couple of hours. loudly. then fell asleep. so i was just stranded on the couch trying to focus on anything else.

i was super pissed. it felt fucking gross to me at the time, and more importantly it was a shitty thing to do to a friend. like, just let me stay home if you're going to have an orgy.

i stopped being friends with them all, and said some rude shit to sandy. i think we were 16 here.

anyways, we never spoke again, and at d&d sarah was v high and cut me off mid-sentence and dropped the "so about sandy" bomb, and apparently there is some secret plan amongst her group to get us together. i told her point blank "i do not want to talk about this whatsoever" and she didn't stop.

i never had anything that even slightly resembled an attraction or feelings for this girl, and i would be totally fine never seeing her ever again. not because i hate her, but because it was a lifetime ago and i don't care. i'm going to have a night loaded to the brim with awkward interactions with people i haven't seen in a decade and i'm going to want to die.

but i am above all very happy for my friends.

 

Ohhh high school. What an awful 4 years.

 

i would like to say that i was 100% an asshole for slutshaming her on any level and being a dumb kid doesn't change that, and i will 100% be delivering her an apology when i see her.

but after that just please no. it also sucks that my friends are "shipping me", like i'm some desperate guy. i've done well for myself, dammit!

i wasn't popular but i was in that sweetspot where i could sit down and talk to whatever group at lunch, i hung out with the weird kids mainly but i also had some athletic chops (TRULY another life). was never ever bullied, all one can ask for.

 

I'm v high and I'm half scared bc of work but half don't give a fuck. It was some kind of homemade water bong I think?
