"a friend" committed insurance fraud and got 10k after an accident. (not me, just not technically a friend).

I've never known anyone who committed insurance fraud but have known someone who robbed a bank

 

I don't know him anymore he's making money for corporations by being in prison

 

it's kinda quaint that people still rob banks, it seems like a crime from the days of yore

 

From the little I know it's definitely not nearly as "glamorous" as it was back in the day

 

do ppl actually ever get away with robbing a bank? that person I knew got away with the insurance fraud but it was mostly because he had had an injury to his ankle from like 8 year prior the accident and he blamed that injury on the accident.

 

Yeah, it's quite romantic.

 

There was a guy in my hometown who robbed banks in the DFW metroplex for a long time and turned himself in once he got bored

why would you turn yourself in. trying to not get caught is supposed to be the fun part.

 

A high school friend of mine robbed a bank for drug money, and he got caught immediately because a bicycle was his getaway vehicle

He's now back in jail for violating parole, it's really sad

 

I've weirdly heard multiple instances of people just turning themselves in. One case i read was because he knew he was gonna get caught eventually and wanted to just turn himself in and get a better deal because he had just had a child and wanted to be there for him during his formidable years.

 

There is never a time when I forget about money and leave it somewhere to be found later.

I feel like it might be harder to rob banks now that everything is automated. I dunno about y’all but pretty much all the banks over here have converted to self service tellers rather than actual people. Usually I’ll go into a bank and there are like two bankers and a supervisor and that’s it. Meaning, if you are gonna rob a bank you’ll probably have to get into the safe which seems overly complicated

 

I'm surprised when I find cash in my wallet so that's good enough for me.
