I got all worried I didn't do an assignment for my history class for school so I go to Canvas and found out that she ended up just delaying the thing. So that worked out.

I think I'm going to go see Blade Runner 2049 again tomorrow before school, the local theater chain has a $6 deal for students on Thursdays so why not?

 

As soon as midterms are over I’m seeing it again 100%. Hopefully it’ll still be in IMAX

I may wait till the late show and see it in 3D but I'm not sure how much it would actually enhance the movie. It already look incredible in 2D so I'm not sure if it would be a waste. Like the only scenes I could see it being cool to see in 3D would be the random street shots with the holographics and the Joi/hooker scene at K's apartment.

 

Yeah, it’s hard to say. Ridley Scott movies typically look amazing in 3D (Prometheus especially looked incredible) but he’s only the producer so I dunno how much control he had over anything. It might be worth it though, I’d check out 3D reviews online

 

Roger Deakins, the cinematographer, said it's best to see it in 2D so idk. Either way, I just want to see it again.

Speaking of film, I'm watching this YouTube series about how to write screenplays. I have this serious itch to make a short film, like this horror idea I've had in my head for a couple years now.

 

Duuuuude. Nice. It is literally my dream to make a horror film.

 

My thing is that the thought of writing an actual script with like a story and dialogue is so daunting to me, but often I will have little vignettes pop up in my head and I don’t always understand what’s going on in them but I know how they are supposed to feel

 

It's kinda weird but it's basically this guy in his apartment talking to a corpse about his day. Like a rotting, nasty corpse. He seats it a dinner table and his just talks to it like it was alive. Now I've kicked around the idea of it either being a guy talking to a female corpse or a mother talking to the corpse of her dead son, I can't decide on which one I wanna go with.

 

I like it. I can easily see that work as a short. There’s something about a mother to a son or daughter that is extra eerie to me

 

That's what I think too, like there's so much you can play with using that idea. Plus, being disturbing goes a long way further in creeping out your audience than trying to rely on a jump scare or a gore effect to do the same.

 

Oh yeah dude. 100%. All of my favorite horror is just stuff that’s unsettling. The Which, The Shining, Twin Peaks. It’s just...something’s wrong without being in your face about it
