Both of my suggested things to say are actually inspired by Stella. Michael Ian Black runs for president of the residence board in his apartment and gives a ridiculous speech starting with: "You know, I was going to come up here today, read this fancy speech I had written, then I was going to stop in the middle, crumple it up, throw it away, and start speaking from the heart. But I'm not going to do that. I'm going to read from my prepared remarks instead."

I actually used that in the speech I gave at my brother's wedding. My brother's friends are all big Stella fans so it was a great reference and funny way to begin the speech. The second part was another part of the speech, albeit he used the word Building instead of Wedding. "B. Building. We all live in this beautiful building."

I love that show so much. Maybe too much.

I'm honored. I wrote a best man's speech for my brother, which I thought was smart and funny but not that great, but I had basically everyone at the wedding tell me it was the best best man's speech they've ever heard. So I feel pretty good about myself in this one area haha.

I don't know whose fucking bright idea it was to run a skeleton crew today. We've been busy as fuck. It's me, 3 more MT's, 2 MLT's, 1 Phlebotomist. We're having to help on the ward with hard sticks. MLT's can't run tests unless an MT is in the lab. The nurses aren't keeping up with the patients bc they're asking us for all kinds of shit. The tube system on the busiest floor is busted and the elevator closest to us is being fixed. So I've had to take the stairs 7 flights. It's slowed down but my feet/quads hurt.

 

Just finished a deep clean of my bathroom and bedroom since I know I won't be doing anything resembling that for the next three months. Trying to fit in some minimal "exhale, it's okay" time before I start training on Thursday starting as soon as I finish this blog post.
