I feel getting old. I just woke up after two hours of sleep and had to drink a bottle of water because of three glasses of wine.

 

I'm aware of all of the cognitive biases that go into this but I'm still convinced peoples' names affect their personality. or at least the way we perceive them.

 

Aw I miss you too bud.

Only 3 more months of working this second job. Then I'll be on a lot more.

I can’t help but think about age, but I also try to look at it through the lens of how much the concept and obtainability of “success” has changed over the last generation or two. The cost of living is rising as corporations keep trying to stagnate what constitutes a minimum wage. The housing market is based on credit, and there are endless ways to send your credit down the shitter regardless of good intentions. A master’s degree is the new bachelor’s degree, and I know three people that have their masters and only one is able to find a place to use it. It’s just a different world. I’ll probably never own a home, and if I do, it’s going to come a lot later in life. It would be either A) own a home and live life with my nose hovering above water financially, or B) rent an apartment for absurdly cheap and enjoy my life. I’m pretty happy with option B.

TL;DR: the correlation between age and success has been obliterated by the generation that got to enjoy the American dream
