Football fans literally create seismograph readings at some games, it's entirely fair for fans to refer to the team as "we" considering the amount of influence they can have on a game (they can create false starts, ruin audibles, etc) and that's just football, baseball fans can catch foul pitches in the stands in reach of players and cause those players to not get outs. I think it's all fair.

But this logic doesn't extend post game, right? I mean fans refer to themselves as "we" regardless of whether or not they are at a game.
