Its terrible but what can I do about it!? Spend 100 bucks a week on digital music?!

 

This. A lot of the bands I listen to primarily through Spotify are bands that weren't going to be getting my money anyways, and then many others are bands Spotify exposed me to and I am now likely to go to a show and buy a shirt when they roll through town. Looking at it strictly from a plays-to-pennies perspective ignores some of the extended benefits.

I guess I'm old school. I like buying the albums and letting them process. I can't imagine listening to ten new albums every week... I wish haha.

 

See I have the attention span of a flea when it comes to music so it's perfect for me. They have a "Release Radar" playlist that gets refreshed once a week and is personalized to your listening habits, so I never ever miss anything. Like last week a new Hard Girls song showed up in it and I had forgotten that band existed and now I'm pumped as hell for their new record. The Daily Mix curation algorithm is godly. It doesn't only make listening easier for me, it improves how I listen/gets me into stuff I would just forget about otherwise.

I really do want to try it. I'm torn between being committed to my massive itunes library and going to spotify. I gather you can combine but then it seems messy and cumbersome, as you said... I like things neat and organized. They're just that way right now. Maybe a free trial is in order. Also, I wonder how spotify works with BMW's idrive system... hmm

However Spotify gets me excited over nothing sometimes. A couple of months ago I woke up to a push notification that said "Fireworks released a new song" and it was some other fucking band with the same name that didn't get differentiated.

Another time it was like "Frank Turner has a new album available" and it was just the label reuploading England Keep My Bones for no reason.

 

The answer is perfectly. My aunt got a BMW from my uncle as a retirement gift and Spotify integrates beautifully.
