I think the album is great and worth the wait. Sometimes I think I miss the explosive side, but the songs are so well crafted that I don't care for too long. I really appreciate how Jesse takes some of my depression and faith experiences and thoughts and puts them into words, esp Can't Get It Out and Waste.

Waste, Same Logic, and In the Water are the highlights for me. 137's Chorus melody is just downright absurdly catchy for such a dark subject matter.

@ChaseTx While not my favorite in Brand New's discography, it is definitely the album I would suggest to people who typically have an aversion to this band or have never heard of them. It's just a really solid rock album and explores new territories for this band without sacrificing their identity. I don't think it's perfect, but I love it.

 

Musically this album took their sound, doubled down and diversified. It's quite a lovely record. But man, the lyrics are great too.

It's still not TDAG tho

 

Also, the Science Fiction thread has been one of the funniest things I've experienced on this thing since the AP days. Absolute hilarity and chaos.
