I had a similar response because I tend to wear form fitting clothes. It’s dumb. I had another boss say, “it must make you feel kinda good though right? I mean, I’m jealous to be honest.” Good times.

Edit: his comment was not in response to the coworker who sexually harassed me but about when Magic Mike came out and as an usher women would often tell me to take off my clothes when they were on thier way out of the theater. It got to the point where I would wait until the theater had completely cleared and then I’d go in because it happened so many times

 

Is it sexual harassment if your boss says you have pretty eyes? Or is it more comments about your body

I forgot how much of it you experience in retail. I can’t imagine being a woman working at a store when men are the primary customers if what i have experienced is common. Humanity is the worst.

i had a flirty dynamic with a boss when i was like 19. i was an assistant manager at a hollywood video and my boss was a 30ish woman. we got along very well and had similar interests and senses of humor. by the time i was there for a year she would make very light flirty comments at me but it was just different, i knew it was just a compliment and she always had my back and never crossed a line and i still keep in touch with her. we spent 40 + hours a week together and comprised 90% of the store's workforce so it was a pretty controlled envrionment.

basically stuff can be harassment and not make you uncomfortable and that doesn't make you a monster, but it's dangerous to reinforce it because that validation may normalize it in the mind of the harasser and make it easier for them to harass others.

That could be super innocuous - it really depends on how it was intended and how it made you feel.

Like, it's not going to be considered sexual harassment if an older lady is like "oh, you have such pretty eyes". But if a male were to say it in maybe a suggestive way or continue on about your appearance, it would be harassment. If they were just talking to you and made a random side comment about how your eyes are pretty and you didn't feel bad about it, I would say it wasn't harassment

 

but this is me talking about how I see it, not how you see it so SO MANY SHADES OF RIGHT AND WRONG AND BLACK AND GRAY
