I literally tried to stop drinking last week for health and then i ended up drinking twice within a week so i suck.

 

I’ve always wanted to be a broody hot guy so I was like “best overheard compliment”

My girl gets on me about drinking saying I don't need to a few days a week and I am really tryna start to kick it out too but my family makes EVERYTHING so much more stressful and difficult for me and her so it makes staying away from drinks even harder too.

 

ugh. this is a large portion of why i stopped drinking. roommates and stuff would hear me say "i'm gonna cut down" and then 4 days later i pour a drink and they send a comment my way implying i have a problem. yes, the problem was i had a shitty day at work. if i had a drinking problem, i would probably get more than halfway through my second beer.

 

Why is that okay, but when a guy says it, it's sexual harassment? Serious question.

It’s probably not okay in the grand scheme of the conversation, but as a man i totally didn’t feel threatened or many of the other factors that come in between genders.

The fact I found it funny and a compliment is rooted in the fact I’m a confident guy who doesn’t have to deal with a myriad of other pressures.

 

Yeah I feel like it's still definitely not an appropriate thing to say at work. If someone said that to me, i'd think it was funny, but that just depends on the person, and I don't really think you're supposed to "guess" to see if they care

 

He also didn’t say it to me. I just overheard him say it. Which is basically what happened to Trump with the one series of tapes so I guess it actually still is horrible and this point went nowhere.

I’ve never felt threatened by a man hitting on me for some reason. At my last job I had a coworker and he was my friend and he would always make jokes about wanting to have sex with me and I thought it was hilarious, but we were good friends. On the other hand, there was this girl who was not my friend and she would always say very sexual things directed at me that would make me incredibly uncomfortable and no one took it seriously. One manager, a woman, even laughing when I suggested that I was being sexually harassed. I don’t know what my point is here. It’s just a problem.

 

i've never been made uncomfortable by a comment or an advance. they also come incredibly rarely lol

 

The problem is that it shouldn't be up to the person on the receiving end or not. It just simply shouldn't be - especially at work. You can't tell the guy it's okay, and not okay for the girl.

 

I have changed already. Sorry to disappoint you. There will be many chances for this picture in the future I’m sure.

 

I drink 1-2 times a week. Sometimes it’s just one or two craft beers, but on weekends like this one, it gets rowdy

 

I mean, this guy was a good friend of mine, and she was a stranger who was pretty explicit. I think you’re correct in that it especially should not be at work.

 

I typically have a glass of wine or beer with dinner several nights a week. I tend to have a few with friends on the weekend, but never during the week. Except on Tuesday nights. When I eat large amounts of shellfish. Like tonight. I might have a martini. or two.

 

I have a couple different friend groups who want to go out to dinner/drinks multiple times a week and it's hard to say no. I'm also really not worried about it at the moment.

 

Now that I think of it... I have been sexually harassed at work. Long time ago at my college job. Then my boss said I was asking for it. Kinda sucked.

 

I had to leave a job because of sexual harassment from a coworker, I filed so many formal complaints and nothing was ever done

The State Department sucks, it's scary to think about how much worse it probably is now
