"Sophie you can't swear you're grounded"

 

My sister as a lil kid swore worse than anyone I've ever known. She would masterfully fit a cuss word in almost every other word and have it make perfect sense and not forced. Terrible etiquette but I couldnt help but appreciate that skill.

 

when i was talking to her on the phone the other day i needed to talk to her mom about picking her up the next day. i asked what her mom was doing, and she said "she's in the other room bitching about the cats"

 

I never know what to do in these types of situations, on one hand I feel the need to say something, but on the other, am I looking like a over protective insane husband? Like my wife is a tough person, she knows how to handle herself, but am I supposed to play the role or is it overbearing? And how do I know when it is and isn't appropriate?

 

Today has been a doozy.

We are starting to have more frequent active shooter drills and I think today's swung Las Vegas home for a lot of us. Lots of tears. Lots of cop harassment bc we're upholding our patient's rights regardless of the crime. When cops are in accidents they have to be tested for drugs/alcohol via blood draw immediately so the alcohol or whatever is still in the system. The dude was trying to get me to put it off. I saw handcuffs above the elbows on a tiny psych patient bc his wrists were too small. Nurse and cop were screaming at each other. I reported several things regarding the police today. Now I'm balls deep in paperwork for it. I'm ready to go home.
