The dinner scene where Claire was trying to justify what she’d done and her brother called bullshit on every point was outstanding. “People kill to have boring lives,” was such a great line, too.
100%. It honestly reminded me a lot of the conversations we see in the accountability threads here regarding abusers and how anybody stays friends with them. Of course every situation is different, but you really don’t see the dynamic of “I still love you, but what you did was profoundly fucked up, you’ll never be off the hook for it, and being outed is not the same as taking accountability” portrayed very often
Another great one. Appreciate that this week had an extra few minutes on it, could really feel it in a good way. That scene with Matt was fucking tense.
Pretty powerful ending. This show didn’t blow me away or anything but it felt extremely relevant and addressed its themes from a perspective that most other movies and television seem afraid to. Gonna have to fire up the movie soon, curious how close the show played it to the source material. In any case, I think it makes sense why the creator wanted to tell this story again.
