I don't usually bother about these "types" of movies but went and seen this with my girlfriend and this was probably my favourite movie of 2018. The sheer raw emotion and heartwarming and breaking is fantastic. I'll Never Love Again is Gaga's My Heart Will Go On.

It was such a good take on the ins and outs of the music industry and what happens beneath closed doors. Was expecting a happier ending but I'm glad that we didn't Bradley and Lady Gaga had such a fantastic supporting cast too

    A great one!

(In all seriousness it’s definitely a crowd pleaser that has some Oscar worthy perfomances)

This was meh. Ill write more later. Songs were good, leads were good. It felt empty and rushed. Not understanding the immense praise.

    hey you lil piss baby

Damn, empty is the last word I would use to describe this. I felt the emotional weight of this film more than like 90% of the other films from this year that I've seen.

Yeah if there’s one word I would never use to describe this movie it would be empty.

Thats fine. I didn’t really feel the writing for either character was fleshed out enough for me to really care. I felt the argument in the bathroom was the most human, real thing in the movie and a lot of other stuff was over the top cliche. Him pissing himself on stage? That was out of like a Zucker bros comedy

It was a movie about music and drama and not Spider-Man .That's what "type" of movie it was, the type that I don't usually go see.

I also felt that the devil-ex-machina of the industry trope character who made Ally dye her hair showing up and saying that at the exact worst possible moment undercut a lot of the ending.

Idk, I just think it followed a ton of tropes of the rags to riches/famous person takes on a not famous person story. I guess that’s the problem when you remake a remake of a remake of a remake. Cooper did his best, but I wasn’t as into it as everyone else

I could write two thousand word essays: one on how I like this comparison a lot and one on how much I think it’s untrue because Gaga already has put out Bad Romance.

I hate how much I’m gonna think about this.

Finally saw this to take my mind off the election today and I loved it a lot. Gaga is incredible as I expected and so much of it hit me really hard about the way she was treated and the way he fell apart and it all just felt really complicated and real.

Also I felt like the “12 notes, it’s just how you see them” was a personal attack on me for initially being upset that this was being remade again. Sam Elliott got me good there.

This pretty much sums up how I felt. There were some good scenes, but it mostly felt slapped together and unrealistic.

It's funny to me that the soundtrack is such a hit when the sings are mostly graphed as industry cliches.
