I thought this looked like trash when I first saw the trailer so that 'the ringer' article is definitely me right now

 

Reviews out of Venice are really positive, I was worrying this would get dragged critically but have a small subset of people like me who love it

 

It seems like a fine debut that’s somehow gonna win a bunch of Oscars because of Cooper/Gaga.

 

I’m ready to see if Coops has that Eastwood touch!!

 

Dave Chappelle's character's name in this is "Noodles"

What more could you ask for in a directorial debut

 

Andrew Dice Clay playing Lady Gaga's dad and Halsey apparently making a cameo as herself

It has those too it's perfect

 

hope it's more eastwood than scott cooper, which it looks more like

 

Getting pretty good reviews. It'll probably end up in the mid to high 70s on MC, 80+ RT

 

Rotten Tomatoes more like Rotting People's Brains

Its at 88 on MC right now. This is looking like a serious fall movie season. This, first man, the favourite, non fiction, Roma are all getting great notices.

 

Don’t know why, I shouldn’t care about this, but the trailer is *really* good and now I’m kind of hyped.
