I can't say I enjoyed this too much. Seeing Cillian Murphy just made me want to watch 28 Days Later

    run away with me Platinum

I don't get the aliens killing everyone and just chilling after
More like an anxious place amirite

also the baby coffin is so funny I'm sorry
also it was rude of Jim to walk out of the pharmacy, which has loose fruit for some reason, without paying because he was late for a baseball game, but I don't think that warranted an alien invasion

this was pretty good imo. better than the first. better setpieces, actual character arcs (!) and Cillian Murphy is several tiers of improvement above Krakinski as bearded apocalypse men (or just in general)

Lots of good set pieces and I can’t complain about the 90 minute run time. Shout out Monday 1pm matinees I will be doing this all summer.

It could be that I missed the movie theater experience, but I thought this was a good time. Not better than the first and the cracks are a little more evident in this one, but all around solid. And you have to love when a movie like this that knows exactly when to end.

also poor one out for Djimon Hounsou who showed up to give a line of exposition and then die. Someone this man a better agent.

lol yeah that sucked. also the more I think about how the creature got to the island by clinging to a boat the less any of that makes any fucking sense. easily the two biggest flaws here for me (as well as Emily Blunt disappearing for like 20-minute stretches of the movie)

I just remembered that when Millicent shoots the monster on the bus, the shotgun has absolutely no kick whatsoever.

I’m sure someone will post a cinema sins video that mentions it in a few weeks.

Why would you broadcast a song as some sort of elaborate riddle instead of a recording saying that the aliens can't swim and we are safe on this island?

I guess they only wanted the more intelligent people who could figure out the riddle to come? instead of like broadcasting it to all the creepy dock people who look like zombies for some reason

The dock people were so hilarious. They had the little girl hunched over only to reveal her face like it is some sort of possessed demon.

This was one of the more ludicrous movies in a while. They have the mummified corpse of Scarecrow's wife as just a jump scare, never to be mentioned again. The double and triple shots mirroring each other felt straight out of film school.

for sure but the main dock guy was Scoot McNairy and he automatically bumps up the quality of any project he's in by 40%, so

Gimme light, gimme love, gimme fire

This was incredibly bland and I say that as a fan of the first one. It was one monster movie/pandemic cliche after another.

This was solid. Not quite the first one, but it comes close.

With all the acting praise online, I’m not sure why Noah Jupe gets so overlooked. Insane kid actor. That bear trap scene was hard to watch.

I liked, it but didn't think about it much once we left the theater.

The island was pretty cool, but it made me sick to my stomach that they brought the alien there after all that time. I was stoned when I saw it and I couldn't stop thinking that humans can't go anywhere without bringing something terrible with them
