Got a ticket for friday. First theater experience since Jan 2020 seeing 1917. Excited for not just the movie but getting back to a movie and getting the biggest popcorn i can.

I thought it was okay. It expands the universe, but doesn't really do anything with it. As others have said, the acting and tension are solid as the first, though I wish Cillian Murphy's character was given a little more depth. Some of the juxtaposing scenes, especially towards the end - pretty damn corny. And the movie just kind of ends.

This has high quality tension, acting, and a healthy dose of cheese (mainly at the end; it felt very Stephen King-y) that it didn't really need, but didn't really lessen the experience.

Just got back from seeing it. I liked it just as much as the first. The opening flashback scene is probably the best sequence out of both of the films.

    Things have changed.

I was very surprised when it just .... ended.

Not sure if that reaction is good or bad. I enjoyed it though, for a sequel.

the writing for this is pretty godawful in the non action stuff, but krasinski builds tension well enough in the action scenes to keep this from being outright terrible. i wonder where he goes next as a director.

I was enjoying this more than the first until I got to the ending which is more or less the exact same ending as the first movie, except even less satisfying

Also I like that these creatures have THE MOST teeth but mostly just kill people by blunt forcing them with their Slenderman-ass limbs

So, for a movie that overall was completely unecessary as a whole (i was just not left wondering after the first one, i was happy with the story it told), i really really enjoyed this.

The intro flashback was done really well, and i liked how throughout a lot of the movie they go back and forth between yours and the daughter’s POV in terms of sound.

Agreed with what Pat said the suspense building was really done well even in the scenes where you just know something is coming.

The only part that felt weird to me was the dock scene with the hermits or whatever, i know they needed a point A to get to a point B there, but it just felt idk, just weird.

I kind of like how it just bluntly ended like Part 1 because like Part 1, there’s really no happy ending or tie-up sequence to happen, it feels more dramatic to just smash cut to the credits like they did.

Very solid, but I certainly do not need a Prt III.

Djimin Hounsou certainly deserves better than the role he was given.

some of the acting was pretty bad. blunt and murphy were the best parts. idk why honsou agreed to do this.

When he showed up that late in the movie, I thought they were setting up him up for a big role in Part III but I guess not!

Did Krasinski sneak a right wing message into this one too?

I dont think so, but his whole #Theatersareback!!!! hashtag on twitter is rubbing me the wrong way, like we all understand why we couldnt go to the movies right? sorry you had to delay receiving millions of more dollars by a year.
