Album Review: A Perfect Circle's Eat the Elephant | MetalSucks Sounds like this album is VERY mellow overall, but tbh I’m excited.
Tbh I think it’s good that this album sounds like it’ll be completely different from whatever Tool will come out with. I like when artists’ different projects are very distinct from each other.
This is a good article about the new album and the writing process: Maynard James Keenan, Billy Howerdel on A Perfect Circle's Return to a "Doomed" World
Ooooh I really like this one. Warning for others: to play the song, you have to start a podcast and skip to the 5:15 minute mark and the beginning of the podcast is super loud and obnoxious.
Just saw them tonight and they played mostly new stuff. Some really cool songs, a lot of unexpected parts, more low tempo overall. I liked all the new songs and am super stoked, expecting mixed reactions at first though
Can’t wait to get the indie exclusive vinyl in this week. Someone created a listing on Discogs already and added a picture:
Hyped for this as well. Any idea what the pressing numbers are? I haven't been able to find them anywhere.
As much as I like the first two tracks they put out, I think I'll probably skip "TalkTalk" and this new one pretty often on the record, tbh. Nervous now, but at least I know studio "Feathers" is gonna own.
Here's the setlist for their Coachella set I saw, I wasn't joking about mostly new songs Eat the Elephant Disillusioned Weak and Powerless Rose The Contrarian TalkTalk Hourglass Counting Bodies Like Sheep to the Rhythm of the War Drums So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish The Outsider The Doomed
Listening now, "So Long and Thanks For All The Fish" was one of the two that REALLY felt different and I thought would get mixed reactions. I really dig it though, glad it's being received well here too
