This sounds better than the other Live stuff I've heard. Seems like he is attempting to go to high when they are non-acoustic
I didn't love that acoustic version the first time I heard it (mainly because the chorus being lower) but it's hitting me the right way now.
this performance sounds pretty great, cory sounds good, i think he may have been sick on the beginning of tour. hopefully we will get some more good vids before the tour ends!
Always wanted to know this answer...If a singer in a band like this, whose vocal melodies are super high, if sick and unable to hit the notes, would you rather them Tough it out and miss a lot of the notes or take the songs down the octave.
Seeing these guys tonight! Really excited for it... I think it's really cool they're playing the whole album front to back on this tour, not enough bands do that with new albums.
I'd prefer them to all together reschedule. If it had to be one of the options though, tough it out, and rely heavily on the crowd. Make it fun
It usually get pretty annoyed when the crowd has to sing. There's been enough times in my life when the singer said halfway thru the show that he's sick or something and I haven't noticed that I'd say just go for it. Especially if they've got good stage presence.
I know much of the talk in this thread was how bad they (Cory specifically) sounded live in some videos but I saw em last night with Emarosa and they sounded pretty freakin great fwiw
I saw them in Sacramento on the Emarosa tour and they were just ok. I can’t get into the new record- I’m a Kurt Travis fanboy ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
That’s good to hear. Hope they can get on a good tour in the spring. Seems like without that their momentum is basically 0 with that last album
Yeah they sounded great when I saw them too. Still think Cory could work on his cleans a bit but he's improving.
he is sounding better in the newer live videos i've seen, i think he may have been either sick, or strained his voice badly on the first tour and wasn't able to recover until afterwards. his voice sounds much more powerful now, hopefully he will be able to maintain it and not stress it too much again!
Nope, I actually live in San Francisco and made the trek to see Emarosa haha. I love 131 and it was either Sac or Santa Cruz. The venue in Sac, Holy Diver, was pretty rad!
Yeah I luckily live pretty close to the venues I frequent. I saw together PANGEA at the chapel on Saturday and that’s walking distance to my spot since I live in the Mission. It’s pretty nice but I definitely now understand the struggle after going to Sac on a Monday night (after work) for a show ha.
I know I pretty vocally disliked this when it came out, but after seeing them live I decided to check the album out again and holy shit was I wrong. Top 5 of the year for sure.
