Man I love that video, and how it's connected to the other one. Hope Michael sings on this album. I think he has a very underrated voice.
Every song they've released thus far has hyped me more than the last. Was very skeptical after Kurt left and didn't anticipate to like any of these songs as much as I do, but the TREOS comparisons make perfect sense (I was trying to think of who this reminded me of and that's definitely it). Just found out they're playing IL next month at a venue really close to me, will definitely be checking that out.
I didn't really get the TREOS comparisons at first but after listening to them for the first time in a long while I see it not. I was a pretty casual fan of ALLB in the past but I'm reaaally excited for this.
My advance copy for review may or may not have finally come in ;) Holy fuck, what an album. Wow wow wow.
It's worth the wait, trust me. VERY cohesive, well thought-out album. It definitely lived up to my hopes of it.
How so? Imo the album is incredible, they could have perhaps picked better singles but that's all I can really fault them for promotion-wise.
I feel like going out on a tour with some more well know bands that have done the jump from aggressive to more indie (title fight, balance, citizen, Indian lakes) would have put this in front of a lot more people that would dig the new stuff. As a headliner, with all the changes, losing Kurt, leaving behind a lot of younger fans who hate that the music is more structured...seems like a poor move.
That's exactly it. Maybe they thought they had more momentum than they did, but starting off with a headliner after a major shift won't do you any favors because you haven't won over any new fans at that time. Having too much faith and trust in your fans will sometimes screw you over. Really hope this doesn't stop them from being a band after this album, I'm stoked to hear this in full and would love for them to make more music as they're all fantastic
Yeah, watched that video this morning. They sound good (definitely seems like they're warming up to the newer material in a live setting when compared with other live videos I've watched of them), but that turnout doesn't look too hot. I know the venue they're playing near me is relatively small, too, but hopefully it'll pack out a bit more.
I'm hoping once the album is actually out and gets more buzz the tour will start to pick up more steam.
