Like the flashbacks. Considering basically all of this season is gonna be set in one place over a couple of days, they break it up nicely.

 

I went from barely aware this existed to “oh shit so this is one of the best things on tv huh”. HBO is absolutely crushing it with this slate.

Love that this story's main "twist" they're not even really treating like a twist. Basically making it obvious to anyone paying attention.

 

Finally hearing Maekar pronounced and it’s “Meerkar” according to that herald lol

The scene with him and Baelor and Dunk was the highlight for me. But loved once again literally everything about this episode. Kingsguard, dunk and egg watching the jousting, Lyonel during the tug of war, etc

Also dying at the serving girl saying “you’re big and dumb” and Dunk looking around like “what the fuck” lol

Also wasn’t sure what was going on with Dunk at the end there. At first I thought was getting psyched out seeing all the ‘great knights’ jousting, then he just seemed depressed at the realization that Ser Arlan was “no great night”, but then he ends all piss and vinegar ready to go kick some ass. I guess he just turned the panic attack into motivation.

Also whatever Tully that was to start the Tourny biting a head off a fish, seems like a cool Tully

 

I’m assuming Hali was referring to the book. I didn’t read it. Don’t know about a “twist”. Maybe I’m not paying enough attention or whatever. Don’t care.

 

Hmm…I would say you probably already know then and just don’t realize it’s supposed to be a twist because it’s pretty obvious on the show in a way that it couldn’t have been in the books unless you were looking for it or already knew the world/lore before reading it.

but yeah I would say people have “spoiled” this twist many times in this thread and other threads before the show started, and even some of the show’s socials and media they’ve done for the show have spoiled it iirc. but I haven’t seen anyone actively talking about in the last week outside of that Hali post.
