The trial by combat rules feel so hacky. It's like they are playing Calvinball with the law

Is trial by seven to the death? I thought it was just a best of seven joust so no one actually has to die just knock them off their horse.

 

I don’t think it has to be to the death, just until you yield or are incapacitated in some way…but you can definitely still die in it haha

I figured I might miss something if I watched this before watching GOT and so far I think the theme song references are the only thing (never heard the GOT theme)

 

Other then some cool easter eggs/call backs to certain family names, or a character that has been mentioned in the other stories before, from my memory you should be completely good throughout the duration of this one in terms of needing to know anything from either of the two other shows. It's possible that future Dunk n Egg stories from GRRM may reference some things in House of the Dragon, but who knows. But this is happening about 80 years after HOTD and almost 100 years before GOT, so just not much to pull in from either show because the characters are so far removed from both time periods.

There's maybe one character that will appear in any of these 3 seasons who it would be good to know the background info we have on him from GOT just to make his appearance seem cooler/interesting, but even without that, the story and the show will almost definitely give you enough to realize that there's something "there" about this character that's not regular.

 

oh I've read the books (except ADWD and F&B) so the only thing I think I'd miss is little easter eggs specific to the show

 

oh yeah then you're definitely fine for the most part lol

 

Dexter may have accidentally revealed that Henry Cavill is in season 2.
