Loved To the Wonder, didn't care for Knight of Cups, never saw Song to Song. This looks great, hope I get a chance to see it in theaters.
I am really surprised this is in English, since he used so many German actors. He wasn't shy about making To The Wonder mostly in French and German.
I went to the movies and I'm watching this trailer in awe with my eyes wide waiting for it to be over so I can whisper to my sister, "That looks like a Terrence Malick movie," so when the written and directed by flashed across the screen I laughed out loud. I had not followed this thread at all and didn't know we were getting a new Malick movie. It was a lovely surprise watching the trailer, I swear I shed a tear and my sister laughed at me. "Are you crying? You're dumb."
I say if you can, watch Days of Heaven, Thin Red Line, and The Tree of Life. You’ve got like a month until this hits
I’m so excited. It’s so hard to be a Christian and a film buff because we hardly ever get movies that interact with faith in a truly profound way. It’s so frustrating. God bless Terrence Mallick for this.
Love that. The Tree of Life is far more authentic to the Christian experience than any self-proclaimed “faith-based” film I’ve seen.
Oh yeah, definitely. Because that stuff is forcing some contrived message and ultimately just preaching to the choir. On either my second or third watch of The Tree of Life I watched it with my mom which, if you knew my mom, is absolutely insane. I love her to death but she is not a movie person at all and the fact that she sat through the whole thing and even seemed to enjoy it really surprised me. But I think her being a devout Christian had a lot to do with that. I also made her watch Days of Heaven haha. I watched that movie twice in one day which I’ve never done before or since.
