The guitar section is basically an Alex G album

And Extreme Vocals is PC music at its best.

    Haven’t heard the rest yet

    hey you lil piss baby

Based on the 7 minute mix, I’m most excited to hear Piano and Extreme Vocals. It’s so exciting to finally have a full length project from him - insane that this is what it is

I’m curious to hear this was all conceived. Like did he plan to build something so sprawling then start writing or did he just have so many songs in thr vault that he just found a logical way to package them up. I’m assuming the later but I hope to hear how it all came together

Yeah, considering how “conceptual” it is, I would definitely be curious about the process. I’d also love to know more about the covers lol

Got to the end of DJ Every Night (holy shit) before life required me to stop and all I can think is that I can’t believe I get to listen to 30 more tracks of this

Drums was cool, but guitar section really got me. I skipped to the last section cause of the Stereogum write up and the song with Caroline is sooooooooo good. She’s got such a perfect voice

Edit: just realized I was listening to Chandelier and not Idyll lmao I really thought it was Caroline

Had to sample a bit of this tonight. Listened to Alright (stacked track), Oracle, Gold Leaf, and I flipped through a few more just to see what’s up. So excited to dive straight in tomorrow, really feels like something special.

This is not at all what I expected but I’m pretty sure it’s the best sound design I’ve ever heard

I'll write you into all of my songs Supporter

On Beetlebum right now, nothing has been a straight out dud so far! Gemstone to Lil Song have all been stellar though

Im gonna listen to it front to back a couple of times for sure, but if there was ever an album where i wont feel bad about just throwing it on shuffle and listening till i switch to something else, its this one

Listened to the first three so far. Everything is so good. I think I prefer Drums so far, but Guitar is such an interesting direction for him. Taking a break and gonna come back fresh to the next few, I don’t wanna burn out halfway through lol.

I feel like after this first listen I will mostly take the album in as individual discs, but it seems like a solid shuffle too.

    Oracle .

AG's vocal sound so good on this thing

Still got like half this thing left but "Oracle" is definitely the front runner for best track so far.

Finished my first run through and this whole thing is absurdly consistent for 49 track lmao. I kind of droned out alot during the supersaw / Nord sections, but thats to be expected. The supesaw in particular felt the most movie score-like which lends it self to just being good background music for me.

I think the extreme vocals is AG at his best/what most people would expected from this release, but guitar/piano are my early favourites. Also Spoken Word has some jams (2021 is incredible)

I’ve only read that and the stereogum piece so far but I’m already frustrated with everything that isn’t a fully formed pop song being deemed “unfinished,” “a sketch,” etc. As if AG hasn’t been playing with straight textural stuff and short length tracks this whole time.
