I think maybe 20 seats sold in my 7 PM Dolby showing Friday. I liked the movie, funny (especially Phoebe Waller Bridge) and cool score truly egregious Burger King product placement though
Ended up seeing this and liked it a lot. Not everything in it worked equally well for me, but when it did, it was charming as heck. Very beautiful (both the movie’s cinematography/production and its stars, especially Margot Robbie). Also at times surprisingly funny!
What was Robbie’s one line, “I’ll kill you today,” lol. I couldn’t decide how I felt about Colin Farrell playing his character’s high school self, revisiting his younger self’s crush, in that section. But, his performance in the play was so fun, and Robbie coming in was great.
This feels like it was heavily influenced by Eternal Sunshine, but with a more whimsical intent. The way it ends, with both characters realizing that it might end in disaster for them, but deciding it’s worth it anyway. And the whole journey is a similar idea of reliving crucial memories, though this time of separate experiences of love and heartbreak as opposed to what they shared together.
Still haven’t watched this yet, but Kogonada’s got a new film called Zi coming to Sundance next month. He also wrote it, so it’ll likely be closer to his first two films than to this one if I had to guess. Logline: In Hong Kong, a young woman haunted by visions of her future self meets a stranger who changes the course of her night — and possibly her life. Cast: Michelle Mao, Haley Lu Richardson, Jin Ha. World Premiere. Fiction. Available online for public. Sundance Film Festival Unveils 2026 Lineup
