after one listen through it definitely felt like it lost steam in the 2nd half. 1st half was awesome though. really bummed the reworked version of jungle didn't make the cut.
Damn. Sad to hear this isn't great. I haven't had a chance to listen yet, and I haven't kept up with the songs that dropped pre-release, but I loved Trap Lord so I had high hopes for this. Maybe it's a grower??
too many failed experiments, not enough consistency, overall just less interesting and enthralling than trap lord
Excited to give this a spin later, Trap Lord is still one of my favorite hip hop releases of the past few years and I've liked all the singles that I listened to.
Listened to it three times now. Maybe my opinion will change, but right now it feels like one of the more disappointing releases of 2016.
I appreciated him trying out some new things, I think it's alright. I'll probably just pick the tracks I like and stick them in a playlist. Just finished my first listen tho so obviously could change
It's not a bad album I'm just not sure it's really great either. A lot of these tracks hold their own outside the album luckily.
Kind of meh on this, overall. Album jumps all over the place, and it's lack of consistency really hurts the album as a whole.
I think the album is great. Not quite the direction I wanted him to go, but def the direction that will allow him to stick around and make some $$. I really want him to go in an island direction, throw on that accent.
