“Two Princes” by Spin Doctors was also absolutely everywhere, I remember. and this is one of the most underrated 90s pop one hit wonders:
Outside of the bubble gum pop, it feels like it doesn’t matter what genre it was, every song still had the same...feel to it. Like somehow this song is just as 90s as any Matchbox 20 song lol
these bands aren't talked about enough in 90s music conversations - Played the first year of Warped Tour - Toured with Rage Against The Machine in 1993 - Bassist is also in Deftones now - This band was doing Blood Brothers type shit like 10 years before them - They were getting courted by many major labels until the singer tragically died in a car accident
well now i need to listen to that song to hear what you're talking about! haha. EDIT: holy shit. the verse is uncanny.
So, definitely not a 90s song, but this thread was the first thing I thought of....because of all the songs we said "yeah this is definitely the 90s", I just randomly stumbled onto the Brooke Hogan/Paul Wall song from 2006 and oh my god it's like dripping mid 2000s ooze all over the place.
