general forum has various city-based thread which is probably your best bet casey is not mayor of music forum
Have you listened to Leggy? Cool indie pop band that we had play the station last year is from there!!
Yeah man! Leggy is one of those favorites haha Swim Team, Whitfield Crocker, Smut, Molly Sullivan, and Animal Mother are all great ones too. Best Cinci band (and probably my favorite lyricist / songwriter) is Silo's Choice though. A good mix of the National / Mountain Goats / D Plan and, like, Paul Simon or someone like that.
i dont know how they do it, but fight this generation is simultaneously my favourite and least favourite pavement song. Its like... im in shock at how good the first half of the song is then the second half starts up and i immediately shift to "fuck this song"
With Pavement I first got into them the summer of 2010 with their greatest hits collection "Quarantine the Past". I'm just now listening to their LPs. Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain being my favorite. Also Perfect From Now On is my fav Built to Spill album. You In Reverse and KiLaS are both fantastic though.
So why didn't I know that Archers of Loaf is the fucking best band until this week? Icky Mettle hit me like a ton of bricks, loved Vee Vee also
Good! AoL rule, and as someone who was really big on Brand New when I was younger that band was a revelation.
I basically bought Icky Mettle on a whim because there was a live performance where Jesse shouted them out and Web in Front changed me. Such a good album
there's nothing wrong with love, the lonesome crowded west, and keep it like a secret. bury me with these albums
you are me, hello the 90s might have most of my favorite albums at this point but every decade is good shout out to the underground I'm currently reading Our Band Could Be Your Life and just finished Girl In a Band, both books that only briefly touch upon the 90s but I have never really thought about the music of the 90s from the perspective of those going into it. It's really interesting to hear from people going though it certain specific differences in the musical climate in the 80s going into the 90s and beyond
Yep, the one that follows, White Trash Heroes, is the last. It's probably my least favorite but I know some others that love it.
Crooked Fingers has some great stuff too, which has the lead singer from Archers of Loaf. Specifically this cover of a song of theirs haha
