I don't know if I'd consider Sonic Youth 80s or 90s, Daydream Nation was 80s but Goo was 90s, same with Dinosaur Jr actually
Superchunk rocks so fucking much. I remember putting an album of theirs on for the first time and thinking 'I'm going to respond to this like I did to Pavement: Seeing the appeal but not really giving a shit,' and then by the end only wanting to listen to another Superchunk record. Fuck yeah Superchunk.
I really want to like Pavement, haha. I've tried albums of theirs a handful of times, it just doesn't click save for "Cut Your Hair."
For what it's worth I love all the SM and the Jicks material I've heard. So I'm basically a Pavement fan or something
I can't imagine not liking Pavement. My second favorite band, right behind my other favorite indie band, The National (obviously not a 90s band.) But yeah, Pavement are the paradigm of indie rock to me
I adore this song, but somehow I've never bothered to listen to any of their other music. Not sure why, exactly, maybe I'll change that soon.
I'm always down for braid talk but would that not be 90s emo rather than indie? eh the distinction is somewhat meaningless anyway
yeah i dont know... i guess emo/indie-rock. like, a lot of what we call modern emo we could just call indie rock probably lol
